The Holston River Park in Knoxville is a treasured community space, but erosion along its banks was threatening park infrastructure and amenities. Working with long-standing client RES and under the guidance of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), AJC provided critical boundary, topographic, planimetric, and bathymetric surveys to document existing conditions and guide design.

This multi-year project covers 2,135 feet of streambank along the Holston River. The goals are to stabilize the bank, control erosion, and safeguard recreational areas for the community. By integrating erosion control measures and supporting engineering design, AJC’s survey services helped launch a project that balances environmental protection with community enjoyment.

Our Knoxville office is proud to have contributed to preserving the Holston River as a natural and recreational asset for East Tennessee.
